Over there are a large stage, lots of snack bars, hundrets of spectators and music. Quiet nice. Sun is shining, beer and "Bratwurst" are delicious and we feel better and better.Around 2:00PM all teams are meeting for marching in.
Following the compulsory speaches, but pleasant short. Gerd Alerdissen, the president of the German Aeroclub DAeC , Andreas Ree as FAI Jury and Gudrun Herbich as the president of the saxonian air sports club LSV spoke to all before the first mayor of Sebnitz, Mike Ruckh, spoke the magic word: " The Wold Championships 2002 for Control Line Models are opend! ".
Standing ovations from all arrived sportsmen as a reward for this really comitted first major! Hundrets of colored balloons rose into the blue sky to spread the message of the perfect organised opening of this W/C. Hopefully the competitions will happen in the same matter, so nothing will be to afraid for. Yours, Matthias

Here it is. The tensionally expected day of opening has come. There was a heavy rain in the night and so the air is beauliful fresh and clear. It's training up to 11:00AM, from 1:00PM there is music on the market place of Sebnitz.
Anf here it goes: With fanfares and the sympathie of the Sebnitz' residents the competitors from 39 coutries are coming in for the Opening Ceremony. Each team gets a artifical rose from a nice girl - artifical flowers are hand made in Sebnitz for a long time , this is what Sebnitz is famous for.
